BIAUSEVU WATERFALL IN SIGATOKA (AKA SAVU NA MATE LAYA FALLS)

How to get there Biausevu village is located ~35Kilometers from Sigatoka town along the highway to Suva. There is a road junction turning left just prior to the Korolevu Police Post. There is a road sign indicating the turnoff from the highway to Biausevu. From the highway you will have to drive on the gravel road to the village for a few kilometers. At the village there is always some waiting to expect a visitor to the falls!

What to bring We recommend wearing comfortable shorts or pants for the hike. You do have to go to Biausevu village hall first before going on the trail to the fall. We also recommend proper shoes and a pair of dry clothes. We found the area to be quite cold and thus recommend bringing your jumpers. Other than that, this is quite an easy walk to the fall. Expect to pay an entry fee of FJ$ 25-30 per person. You do not need a guide to accompany you to the fall

What to expect on the hike? You will be crossing smalls creeks at least 9 times before getting the Biausevu falls. The creeks are no more than 30-75cm deep. You must be careful however of tripping hazards along the way. Certain sections of the trail are a bit slippery. Other than that, this is a quite a straightforward walk. The walk should not take more than 30 minutes to an hour

The waterfall We have been chasing waterfalls for years now, this was one of the easiest waterfalls to get to. The walk through the forest is amazing. The waterfall is also amazing. The overall height of the fall is approx. 20 meters. The waterfall slides down in two tiers. In between the tiers, it looked like the stream actually launched in a small waterwheel before making its final descent

How can we help Hit us up if you need directions or a guide to the site. We are adventure seekers and would love to help fellow adventurer
